The Small Print
Privacy
The short version: we hold as little as we can get away with.
Refund cases stay in your browser
The Refund Desk does not store your case. Your booking references, amounts, dates and account are held in your own browser's local storage so you can come back to the campaign later, and they are cleared when you press Start a new case. They are sent to our server once, to generate your letters, and are not retained afterwards.
What we do hold
If you submit an account to the Wall of Shame, we store what you send: the account itself, and the establishment, city, first name and email if you provide them. Your email is used only to tell you whether your entry ran. We never publish surnames.
Processing by others
Text you submit to the Roast Desk, the Refund Desk or the Wall of Shame is sent to Anthropic's API to be screened and written up. The site is hosted by Vercel, which keeps standard server logs including IP addresses. Links in our Stay Somewhere Decent module go to third-party booking partners who set their own cookies once you arrive; we may earn a commission from bookings made through them.
Analytics
We use privacy-preserving analytics that count page views without building a profile of you. No advertising trackers.
Your rights
Write to concierge@rubbishhotels.com and we will tell you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. If you asked us to publish something and change your mind, say so and we will take it down.
Please do not send us other people's data
Our screening rejects submissions containing named individuals, contact details, booking credentials or card numbers. Redact before you paste.
